Time Management

One thing I'm still working on that I learned from Academic Strategies is Time Management. The key factor in effective time management is being organized. Being organized means keeping your goals in mind and planning your activities to make them a reality. Some times we my come across unexpected circumstances that can interfere with our plans and goals. The ability to stay flexible is also very important. Having a weekly planner on my desk and writing down the assignments due date works very well. Plan and Prepare. Staying focused. I wish everyone much success.

Conquering Fear

On March 4, 1933, during the dark days of depression, President Franklin D. Roosevelt said in a radio speech, "The only thing we have to fear is fear itself."
On September 7, 1851, the naturalist Henery David Thoreau wrote in his journal, " Nothing is so much to be feared as fear."
Three centuries before that, the French essayist Montaigne wrote, "The thing of which I have most is fear."
People in all ages of history have fought their fears in one way or another, but the only thing that really conquers fear is faith in the Lord: I will trust and not be afraid" (Isa. 12:2).

My cousin was a very smart and beautiful woman. She had a wonderful husband and they had no children. In, the mid 70's her husband was in a play in Hollywood, California and it was called " One Flew Over The Coo Coo's nest.  He had the lead role, the one Jack Nicoleson played on screen. That was a fun moment with our family and there's. She will be missed. But, I do understand God calls for his children and she is was one of them. I am at peace with her moving on and I must get back on track.

Ephesians 1:17-19

The God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory,... give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power.

Frederick Douglas

''It must be borne in mind that the tragedy in life doesn't lie in not reaching your goal. The tragedy lies in having no goal to reach. It isn't a calamity to die with dreams unfulfilled, but it is a calamity not to dream. It is not a disaster to be unable to capture your ideal, but it is a disaster to have no ideal to capture. It is not a disgrace not to reach the stars, but it is a disgrace to have no stars to reach for. Not failure, but low aim is sin.''

PSALM 40:1-3

I waited patiently for the Lord; and He inclined to me, and heard my cry. He also brought me up out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and establishedd my steps. He has put a new song in my mouth-praise to our God; many will see it and fear, and will trust in the Lord.

"It's the thought that counts"

Putting thought into my topic was very challanging. First of all, my topic was Alzheimer's/Dementia: Prevention. My search lead to so many articles I thought I was going to have a nervous breakdown,  I became very frustrated. So, I narrowed my search, I noticed there were many articles on cognitive disorders, and I discovered Dementa and Alzheimer's are onsets of cognitive disorders. Second, I narrowed my search even more, and there were many articles on cognitive disorders. Third, I narrowed my search for the last time and bingo I found an article on "Elderly Depression/Suicide. I also discovered that depression, cognitive disorder, dementia and alzheimer's all work together. I can breathe now!!!
